Your Baked Alaska is served, Rita.Is your memory of Bombe Alaska something like this? Sometimes it comes in a dome shape, and flambeed. On the ship they only put a small flame on top, I guess for safety reasons.

Thank you, Louis. Yes, that's the 'bomb' I had and it was dome-shaped with a much bigger flame.
Did you enjoy eating it? I don't remember the taste, so I must not have liked it. Meringue is not among my favorite things to eat. I should try it once again.
I enjoy most any dessert but I would opt for a good chocolate cake over Flaming Alaska :)
