Well, I wasn't disappointed: there was a wine blending seminar, and another, unexpected one given by a fifth generation member of a prominent wine-making family in California, the Wente Brothers.
This turned out to be a real treat since he was a very well educated young man, very knowledgeable in both the science and art of wine-making. In addition he was a very skilled and entertaining presenter.
Then there was a third presentation, also by the Wente scion, that involved wine and food pairing.
All the presentations were "hands-on", so everyone participated enthusiastically :)
