I had to eat my words, and luckily my granddaughters weren't around, because I would have had to eat some lobbed snowballs as well because a heavy snowfall blanketed everything on Thursday.
Did you notice the car parked on the other side of my front hedge when you first looked at the photo? It was completely covered up. This is what it looked like from the street.
Rita, I wasn't so lucky this time. This time my footpath disappeared under the snow:
My street would make a nice wavy ski slope:
And the service road parallel to it in the park across the street might be good for cross-country skiing.
Classes must have been cancelled today because there were a few youngsters taking an innertube to the top of the street:
There's one bending over to scoop up a snowball to throw at his friend:

We drove into our town this afternoon and it was one big white mess. Many of the roads are hilly, so City Hall closed them and of course, they became snowboarding and sliding slopes. :)
Safeway was packed and I had to queue up for carts for the first time! Residents were stocking up for this weekend's snow. I suspect many had to cancel travel plans to stay home. White Christmases do not come without woes, huh?

I am fortunate to live just across the street from a huge Nature Preserve so that scenes like these are accessible even though downtown Seattle is just a very short drive away.

Just this week we were trying to figure out a date to invite you over. With this weather though I guess any planning has to be put on hold for the time being.
Watching the weather forecasts tonight, Elena was wondering if we shouldn't go to Safeway ourselves to lay in supplies!

So much snow has fallen since you let me see the snowfall live via your viewcam. All the snowscene in Enif Blyton's book is coming back to me now.

And for reminding me of your year-round summer. You can't imagine how attractive that sounds at this moment. More than a foot of snow has piled up all over the ground, and it is still falling.
There's no traffic except for a very little on the main streets that have been somewhat plowed, but even they keep getting covered up again. We are going to be snowbound in our homes for the rest of the day and likely several days into next week too.
