To my great surprise, my Lilac tree, pruned to within an inch of its life, has valiantly put forth three sprays of flowers, two of which are in these photos.
Aaah! Like a phoenix, the lilac rises from the ashes! Who would have imagined that such delicate looking flowers could grow out of stubby bare branches? Beautiful photos indeed, Louis!
Thanks, CO'78, for elevating the blooming of those lilacs to a classical event. Actually I was very impressed by the generosity of that tree, drawing on all the meager resources left to it to produce at least some flowers.
